Why language matters in psychiatric care

Describing mood, anxiety, sleep, and concentration is hard enough in a first language. In a second language, important details get lost, and treatment decisions depend on those details. Speaking with a clinician in Tagalog means symptoms, family context, and treatment preferences are understood the first time, without translation apps or family members interpreting.

Care that understands Filipino family and cultural context

Mental health care is often a family matter in Filipino households, and stigma can delay treatment for years. Our clinicians understand concepts like hiya and utang na loob from lived experience, not a textbook. That context shapes how we discuss diagnoses, involve family when you want them involved, and plan treatment that fits your life.

Services available in Tagalog and Filipino

Every service we offer is available with Tagalog-speaking care: adult ADHD evaluation, medication management, TMS therapy, Spravato (esketamine), and treatment for depression that has not responded to medication and anxiety.

In person in Hayward, or online across California

Our office is at 21297 Foothill Blvd, Suite 203 in Hayward, in the heart of the East Bay Filipino community. If you are anywhere else in California, from Daly City to San Diego, the same care is available by secure video visit.
